Title: Don't Be a Duo
Author: Lady Casper
Pairing: 1 x R
Rated: PG
Times like these Relena truly believed in fate. Standing right on the other end of the small cafe' she always went to, to get away from people that knew her, Heero stood completely still. His eyes caught sight of hers and she knew the gig was up.
Sighing she thought, 'Guess I'm going to have to find another cafe' now.'
Heero started to make his way over but stopped abruptly about two tables away from where she sat. Curiosity hit and she veered her head up to see what had stopped him. A young blondish girl, too girly for words was flicking her fingers through her hair as snapped her jaws down on her gum. Two red nail polished fingers dug into Heero's chest as she playfully winked at him and started a conversation. Of course even Relena knew it had to be one sided. Only so many people can get that man to talk and she sure as hell wasn't if Relena had some difficulties as well.
Quirking eyebrow Relena leaned back in her chair and watched to see just what Heero might do. Most likely avoid her and step to the side but he might surprise her by saying a few words of not interested and then leave. You just never knew with Heero anymore.
Right on cue, Heero stepped to the side and started to walk away when the blonde's fingers wrapped around her bicep. Now Relena could feel a small red flush go over her face. Who the hell did this girl think she was?
Heero turned toward the girl who was smiling stupidly giddy at getting a reaction from him. She could already feel the glare without even having to look at it by the girl's face. "The death glare, nice touch Heero." Relena sipped her latte’.
This time Heero walked away without interference and came straight up to Relena who was now placing a hand over her eyes to see him through the glaring sun.
"Well hello." Relena smiled pleasantly at him. The smile met a glare. "Something the matter?" The smile faded and Relena automatically was concerned.
"You saw her but didn't save me?" He asked, indicating the girl with his thumb pointing back at the girl who was leaning against a chair looking stupefied.
Relena blinked and looked back at the girl briefly before bringing her eyes back on Heero. "What?"
"Out of the countless times I saved you from near death you couldn't help me once?" Heero pulled out a chair and sat down. Relena still seemed dumbfounded by his reaction.
"Heero, you have got to be kidding me.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Continuing his stare at her he could see her fidget. "Stop Fidgeting."
"I'm not fidgeting."
"You are fidgeting."
"Well stop staring at me."
"When you stop fidgeting."
"Well then I can't stop then now can I?"
"Are you trying to be a smartass?"
"Are you trying to be a dumb ass?" Relena mocked him back and this time Heero had the quirked eyebrow up.
She almost wanted to laugh at the crocked smile he was showing but a sudden chill went up her back and she glanced around her and Heero.
"Heero...we have an audience." Around both of them the sudden back and forth caused eyes to look their way and stay there. Heero glanced at them then shot a death glare.
"Taken care of." He stated as everyone went back to whatever conversation they had.
"How did you find me?" Relena leaned in waiting for an answer.
"I know where you are all the time." He leaned in.
"Heero, you’re not God and you don't know where I am at all times."
"You insult me knowledge."
"I insult your bragging."
Heero leaned back into the back of the chair and studied the woman who's face seemed slightly flushed.
"Relena are you sick?"
"Excuse me?"
Heero grunted and leaned back into the table, reaching a hand over and touching her forehead.
"You seem flushed out. Are you sick?"
Relena turned another shade of red and could feel sweat start at her brow from his close contact with her skin.
"No no, I'm fine." She smiled pushing off his hand, "Really I am."
Heero narrowed his eyes but didn't say anything as he leaned back into his chair again. Relena smiled again but a little nervous habit of hers was to fold her hands and that's where Heero saw it.
She was nervous around him? Or nervous at something else?
What was that on her face?
"Relena, you have a little..." Motioning with his fingers Heero tried to direct Relena where a little foam had sat at but Relena seemed to oblivious elsewhere to understand his indication. Heero tried again by pointing at his own mouth where it was on hers but her fingers fidgeting still missed its mark.
Grunting and a little irritated, Heero finally leaned over wiped it off with his fingers. Relena was wide eyed, he couldn't help but smile. Placing the fingers he used to wipe the extra foam, he placed it in his mouth and moaned at the taste. Now Relena truly was beat red.
"Heero what..." Heero watched her lips as she was stumbling over her words and smirked. I wonder what they taste like. "...do that for?" Relena finished her question but before she could get an answer from Heero, he had leaned closer in on the table, looking directly at her eyes as he claimed his lips on top of hers.
Tasting like everything in her cup and oh so much more, Heero licked her inner lip and waited for her to fully open her mouth. She did and allowed him access as his tongue slipped in and explored her mouth. Relena moaned, her fingers starting to slide into his dark tangles of hair as he continued to rub his tongue along the top of hers.
Pulling away slowly, Heero caught sight of her eyes. They were filled with a whole new emotion that he was sure had been reflecting his own.
"Mm...taste good. Maybe I should get myself a cup of that."
Relena was still a little lightheaded from the kiss but smiled at him and leaned in for another kiss.
"Heero..."
"Yes I know."
"Good. Then stop being a smartass."
"But I'm so good at it." He said, at little too frankly making Relena want to bop him in the head.
"Heero," Relena kissed him lightly, "don't be a Duo."
Heero smirked and kissed her back before noticing that they had an audience again. Grabbing Relena's hand he lightly pulled up for her to follow. "Let's find a place with more privacy."
The eyes that had been watching looked on as the couple made their way out of outdoor cafe'. The whole while a pair of violet eyes smirked as they watched Relena and Heero walk away, his arm wrapped around her waist while her head rested on his shoulder. Glancing back down at his newspaper, he grinned. "That guy is so lucky I like this cafe."
Duo laughed. "Oh so lucky."
